Have you ever wondered what the difference is between an accident and a consequence? I doubt it, but in case those are muddy terms for you, look no further than Miss Jillian Howe for clarification. Yesterday, Matt put her in a time out for apparent misuse of playdoh and fit-throwing. When it was over, she came back to the table and the following conversation ensued:
J: "I want my playdoh!"
Matt: "You lost your playdoh as a consequence for throwing a fit"
J: "Ohhhhh.....that's not a consequence. That's an accident, and accidents happen!"
There you have it.
