G and G's Visit

Grammy and Grandad came to visit us last weekend! We realized it had been a very very long time (a couple of years) since they both had come to visit just for fun. Often, my mom comes to take care of the girls while we travel or to stay with me and have girl time when Matt travels. It's rare my dad gets to come, and even more rare that we just focus on enjoying time together instead of me trying to utilize their help with the little ladies while I get stuff done. We had a wonderful weekend together that we all enjoyed immensely.

Saturday we hit the first outdoor farmer's market of the season--my happy place. It was glorious and the weather was just amazing. The radio kept calling it a "top 10 day". These are the days that make living in MN so wonderful and all the winter suffering worth it.  We snapped a couple pics of the girls and my parents....hard to get it right!
Open your eyes, Deb!

Where are you going, A?
On Sunday we took our guests downtown to our favorite brunch spot (Chester's). Jillian asked to order off the adult menu for the first time because the "kids menu doesn't fill me up", so she was proud to order the pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream and two pieces of bacon. Aside from sharing some of that glorious whipped cream with her sister, she ate it all. This is big stuff, people. She desperately wants to be a big kid. After brunch we headed over to Lark toys and then into "Winds-consin" to the creamery for some ice cream. Stone Barn pizza sadly doesn't open until the 15th, but we did stop at a new (to us) winery that looks like it's something out of somewhere other than the Midwest. And the wine was unusually good for this part of the country. Mom and I enjoyed tasting while the men chased after the girls in the winery courtyard. It was a lovely combination of activities for the day. A true "Sunday Funday".

The Lark carousel never ever disappoints. Pure joy as they rode....

Appropriately, Adrienne made her "vanilla face" while eating vanilla ice cream....

These two....they are something else. Love my goofy, crazy, spirited girls.

Climbing the stairs in the winery to check out the sights.

Hello down there!

A lovely view from the top at Villa Bellezza

Enjoying the fountain and playing with their Lark Toys selection while their mother was inside tasting wine.....

Almost....Adrienne appears to be taking after Grammy with the closed eyes.

Hugging Grandad goodbye.
