Quarry Hill Nature Camp every morning for Jillian. Her very favorite activity of the summer. Had a fabulous time, got to go with Ella again, and came home covered in mud every single day.
Make Something Monday--Paper lanterns. Colored with wax crayons, then painted over the crayons for a cool finish. We were supposed to let them dry, cut slits and make into lanterns with flameless candles, but we stopped short and forgot to finish. Oops.
Try It Tuesday--Dancing Raisins. Put raisins into water and some into Sprite. The ones in carbonation were supposed to "dance" up and down. They did not. Fail.
What's Cookin' Wednesday--Crazy Cubes. This is a fancy phrase for colored ice cubes. We made ice cubes out of cranberry juice and enjoyed them in lemonade. Little task, HUGE excitement.
Throwback Thursday--Supposed to do Hopscotch, but we skipped it due to arriving company
Friday Funday--Had a surprise party for Grandma Helen (lots more on that in the next post)
Bible verse--"Be kind to one another", Ephesians 4:32. We could probably stay on this one the whole summer.
Tried a new chore chart this week, and while it's still not "the" system, I added daily "school" practice for each girl. Jillian is practicing her reading and A is working on learning her letters/numbers. I discovered a brilliant plan here because I gave J the job of working with A on the flash cards. They both think that is pretty awesome.
