Summer Fun--Week 3

Here's a little rundown of week 3 of summer for my records....

Chores--need a new system.
Bible verse--kept the same one (Isaiah 43:5).
Devotional--Not super consistent.

Drama camp for J--BIG fun, separate post for this!
Superhero camp for A

We hit the opening day of strawberry picking at Firefly Berries on Tuesday with the Tauntons
Running like banshees towards the field

Getting everyone in their places in the appropriate rows

Someone was guilty of eating more than she picked.

Carrying up our crop. We were giggling at Will and Jillian, slowly ascending the hill hand in hand as is typical for them

20 lbs in just over an hour. 46 cups. Took 2 hours to wash and hull, and then a huge part of the next day to slice for freezing and make 3 batches of freezer jam. Yippee!

Mortified when I discovered a tick on A's head in Hy-Vee on Wednesday. The first one ever on my kids. I snapped the pic and sent to Matt in a panic. Thankfully all is ok. GROSS.

Make Something Monday--Paper plate fans

Try It Tuesday--Rainbow Celery (totally awesome, big hit for girls)

What's Cookin' Wednesday--We made strawberry shortcake with our berry crop!

Throwback Thursday--Watched Fraggle Rock, one of my faves from childhood. Kids lasted 5 minutes before they declared it "boring"

Friday Funday--Stopped at Great Harvest to pick out some fresh bread on our way home from  drama camp.

Little hands prepared this with love

We put our celery in colored water

The crab was to preside over the experiment

One day later--see the colored leaves and stop of stems? Highly exciting to young children.
