A's Day

On Adrienne's actual birthday, she was up before Jillian and we enjoyed a nice chat over breakfast complete with lots of snuggles.
This kid is and always has been obsessed with Alpha Bits

Catch that milk drip? Precious.

I see a lot of Jillian in this one
Soon we were ready to go out for a morning of fun, just us girls. Had to pose for a few pics with her FROZEN "Birthday Royalty" necklace on first.

First stop: Story time at the Christian book store. It was our first time at this one and the girls loved it.
Hard to wait patiently

Getting the wiggles out

Next stop: Color Me Mine for a little ceramic painting.
Adrienne insisted on this unicorn piggy bank, which she of course painted mostly green.

Jillian saw this milk and cookies mug that was painted like a minion, so she wanted to emulate that.

Ready to be fired

The green unicorn. We will pick these treasures up next week.
Third stop: Daube's to select a cupcake for singing later that night. Fourth stop: Adrienne's lunch spot of choice--"Clovers" (Culver's). It's possible we went ahead and enjoyed custard even though our lunch wasn't yet gone.

We went home to play and then rest while watching Adrienne's selected movie (Despicable Me 2). At 5:30 we met Matt at Broadway Pizza for dinner. Let's be clear we didn't go there for the pizza (which I do not find impressive at all), but instead for the magic. Matt works with "Not Your Average Joe", who is a radiology tech with a magic business on the side. He does table side magic for families on Mondays at Broadway Pizza, so this seemed like the right occasion to go give this a try. While Adrienne loved the extra attention and fun of Joe's stop at our table, it was Jillian who was totally enamored. She was about to burst with wonder, curiosity, and glee. Lots of smiles during this time from the big sister who had a hard time letting little sister be the center of attention for the day.
Putting magic sugar in the pot to make some toys

Don't forget the magic cheese!

In total heaven

Turning on the radio...which was a business card that the girls drew on and then pushed the fake buttons to make the radio turn on. Magic!

After the magic fun we headed home for a few gifts and those Daube's cupcakes.

Every Bubble Guppy loving girl needs a Bubble Guppies lawn chair, right?

Oooh...an Elsa dress!

Fun craft supplies from Aunt Angela came in the mail

The gift I had been dying to give her--a triangle! Remember how much she LOVED the triangle in music class?

Two pretty special girls.

Lovin the fire on that Daube's chocolate cupcake

Shocked when Jillian selected the carrot cupcake...but she loved it! For the record, Daube's is the ONLY carrot cake in the world that I like.

Try mine, sister.

Cupcake coma for the birthday girl. What a day!
