We ended Spring break with an afternoon of climbing at Roca with Will and Rachel. My little monkeys sure love to climb.
On early release day, Matt happened to work a 5 a.m. shift so he was done around noon. He suggested we head over to Whitewater State Park for a family hike. It was cool and rainy, but we had a great afternoon together.
On Good Friday, Jillian was surprised with a trip to see the Harlem Globetrotters with her best buddy Noah for his birthday. Adrienne was a a bit sad to be left behind, but we had a nice evening with her making playdoh (her selected activity) and watching a movie of her choosing.
We had a laid back Easter. Church, brunch at home, naps, egg hunt, and grilling out. A very relaxing day with beautiful weather.
Adrienne and Charlie have the most precious friendship. They are such sweet kids.
Charlie's mom found this in his backpack and sent me the picture. Adrienne made it for him and they are both wearing their favorite colors.

The girls aren't content to just play in the sandbox. Gotta get the hose, dig some holes, and make some mud.
Matt spent the last week of April in Honolulu at a conference. So, we had a girls week. I employed my usual "what would dad do?" strategy, and therefore, we had lots of fun! Adrienne and I were twinkies for church and brunch on Sunday.
That same day, we also went to the library, enjoyed time at the park, went to Flapdoodles, and then to Sargent's to get some flowers for the girls to plant. My plan was to wear them out, and I succeeded!
We started a bit of 'kids in the kitchen' action. I found a ravioli lasagna recipe, bought the supplies, and told Jillian after school that she was in charge of dinner. She was overjoyed!
Adrienne got her turn a few days later--she made a homemade baked mac and cheese.

More fieldtripping. This time with Jillian's class for the Arbor Day celebration. Pure madness!
That same night (with Matt still in Honolulu) was the school carnival. More madness....but so much fun for these girls! We brought home lots of snakes, as they were the prize of choice for all the tickets they won.
Jillian won the cake walk, so she happily shared her cupcake winnings with Charlie and his sister, Elise.
We resumed swim lessons after a long winter break.
On May 5th, Adrienne finally lost her first tooth! She was so excited. The crazy thing is that her two grown up teeth behind the bottom front teeth had already come in. My little shark-toothed girl.
Jillian tried out a new strategy to get out of eating fruits and veggies at meals. I found some apple slices hiding on the bar underneath the chair when I was sweeping the floor. Nice try!
Spontaneous play date with Noah at our house last Saturday, complete with cookies and milk.
And Sunday. Glorious Sunday. Semi-annual trip to MSP with my BFF for good food and lots of shopping. After we closed down the MOA, we enjoyed a lovely meal outside and some craft cocktails before heading home.
