He's 35!

Matt turned 35 yesterday, and unfortunately was still in Naples (FL) at a conference and spent much of it traveling home. He thought Jillian might be upset about his absence on his birthday, so we just told her his birthday was actually today. No harm done, right? She was so excited to see him when she woke this morning, that she made him hurry and open all his presents before he went to work. I had a hard time getting a good shot of this process with both girls, because Jillian kept bouncing around in front of Adrienne.

I promise we didn't give him trash for his birthday! Outerwear is bulky.

After Jillian got home from school, she helped me decorate his requested cake of chocolate with chocolate frosting. She decided he needed red sprinkles because "my favorite color is red"!

When he got home from work we had his requested meal: Penne with shrimp in a vodka cream sauce, bread with oil/parmesan, and an iceberg wedge salad with blue cheese dressing. We ate at lightning speed because Jillian was only concerned about when we would be eating cake. "Is it time for cake? Is it time for cake?" Over and over and over. Jillian also dressed intentionally for the occasion, wearing her Christmas dress again for daddy's "party". We are all over the moon for this man, and wish great things for him in this 35th year. I of course am happy to say that he's older than me for the next 7 1/2 months. Love you lots, Matt!
